Hi Rehman. Thanks for your inquiry, but I'm afraid that we really need someone that's based in the UK, due to the nature of the work that will be involved.

Hi Ray Sun. This isn't the sort of thing that we would fund - paying for a night out for a group of people isn't charitable. We might be able to help with the travel costs to such a meeting if that would help with getting a regular Wiktionary meetup going. Another (better) approach would be for people to come along to the London Wikimeets - see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meetup/London/31 - or to organize a wikimeet in a different part of the UK.

My Wikimedia name is Rising Sun, from Wiktionary. We at Wiktionary are interested in the Wikimedia Board taking us British Wiktionarians out for dinner somewhere. I'd invite all of Wiktionary's British contingent to this dinner, to meet up and talk about the website and get to know each other. The restaurant, of course, must be somewhere in the UK with wi-fi, so we can edit Wikt after our meal. If possible, we'd extend the grant to a round of drinks, to loosen us up. We must discuss the details further, so any questions plz email me or (better still) drop me a note at http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/User talk:Rising_Sun
